Jacinda Ardern got some justified backlash for taking too long
before delivering the big levels reduction news in her announcement last week.

The Government had signaled the announcement was coming, so people
were keenly waiting. But they were made to listen to the usual daily ‘cases’
assessment before Ardern gave the news. 

It’s a reminder that when you’ve got your moment in the limelight,
don’t get cute. Deliver the news. The only reason for not getting straight to
the point is that you need a minute or two to describe the factors that explain
your decision.
